Pigeon Fanciers we bring you some great news regarding Katie Cassidy. Katie performed at FatPigeonLive on her recent mini tour to the UK from Ireland and was well received at her gigs over in the UK. Ballina musician and performer Katie Cassidy, has only gone and scooped the JOE.ie Le Crunch Apple of My Eye Song Contest this week, performing alongside 4 other very talanted acts and walk away with €1500 prize.

The competition is a great platform for artists over in Ireland. Incredibly healthy brand Le Crunch Apples from France team up with JOE.ie, Ireland's first & only men's lifestyle website, to find Ireland's best cover version by asking anyone and everyone to perform a cover song that is dear to their heart in the all new Le Crunch Apple of My Eye Song Contest.

Katie submitted her FatPigeonLive performance of the Nina Simone song, Feeling Good and waltzed through to the final round at the renowned Whelan's venue in Dublin along with Slow Seas, Crossing Paths, Scoops and Mimi Lane & Stephen Kelly to make up the five finalists.

The panel of judges included Maximum Media Broadcast Director Paddy McKenna, Ham SandwicH singer Niamh Farrell and Peter Dunne, owner of BARE in the Woods and Katie won their votes.
The nights entertainment also saw a performances from former Le Crunch Apple of My Eye Song Contest winners Brave Giant and Flat Out on the night.
